⚠️ IMPORTANT RESIDENCY & BOOKING NOTICE
By requesting, scheduling, or confirming a daycare or boarding reservation with Claudia's Dogs Daycare & Boarding LLC, you explicitly confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to all operational policies listed in our website’s Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section, as well as the binding legal terms outlined in this Boarding Agreement below prior to booking.
1. LEGAL LIABILITY, INSURANCE COVERAGE, & PROPERTY DISCLOSURE
Claudia's Dogs Daycare & Boarding LLC is fully insured for professional pet care operations. While we maintain the highest industry standards of safety, veterinary assistant observation, and pack management, pet owners recognize that commingling animals carries inherent natural risks. Owners explicitly agree that Claudia's Dogs Daycare & Boarding LLC and its operators shall not be held legally or financially liable for standard canine illnesses, accidental injuries, or natural medical events that occur during a pet's stay, provided standard professional care guidelines are followed.
Furthermore, the Owner assumes all liability and holds Claudia's Dogs Daycare & Boarding LLC completely harmless for any self-inflicted injuries sustained by the pet. In strict accordance with Virginia Code § 3.2-6518, boarding establishments are not required to bear the cost of veterinary treatment for injuries resulting from the animal's self-mutilation. If the pet suffers an injury caused by their own behavioral panic, stress, or anxiety—including but not limited to destructive chewing on household items, scratching at barriers, or attempting to chew or break out of a kennel/cage—the Owner is entirely responsible for all subsequent veterinary costs and emergency care bills. The Owner also agrees to fully reimburse Claudia's Dogs Daycare & Boarding LLC for any structural property or equipment damage caused by the pet's destructive chewing or anxiety-driven behavior.
2. VETERINARY CARE, EMERGENCY AUTHORIZATION, & EXPENSE RESPONSIBILITY
In the event of a medical emergency or a health issue identified by our CVA background, Claudia's Dogs will make immediate contact with the Owner or the designated Emergency Contact. If the owner cannot be reached rapidly, the Owner hereby authorizes Claudia's Dogs Daycare & Boarding LLC to seek professional veterinary medical treatment at the nearest operational veterinary hospital.
The Owner agrees to assume full financial responsibility for any and all veterinary costs, diagnostics, surgeries, or medications incurred during an emergency treatment process. While Claudia's Dogs Daycare & Boarding LLC carries commercial liability insurance to protect our guests, the Owner explicitly agrees to cover, pay, or fully reimburse Claudia's Dogs Daycare & Boarding LLC for any extra costs, remaining veterinary balances, treatments, or deductibles that our insurance policy does not cover.
3. VIRGINIA ANIMAL ABANDONMENT LAW
Pursuant to Virginia Code § 3.2-6520, Claudia's Dogs Daycare & Boarding LLC strictly enforces the state animal abandonment laws. If a pet is not picked up within fourteen (14) days after the scheduled reservation departure date, and no written extension or financial settlement has been explicitly agreed upon, the pet will be considered legally abandoned.
- Written notice will be sent via certified mail to the owner's last known address.
- If the owner fails to respond or claim the pet within the required legal timeframe, Claudia's Dogs Daycare & Boarding LLC reserves the absolute right to surrender the animal to a local humane society, rescue organization, or animal control authority as dictated by state law.
- The owner remains fully liable for all outstanding boarding balances, late fees, and legal costs incurred up to the date of surrender.
4. RESERVATIONS, PAYMENT SCHEDULE, & PET RELEASE POLICIES
As a boutique, small business, our payment boundaries are absolute. Our 50/50 payment split requires half of the balance upfront at drop-off and the remaining balance settled completely at pick-up. In accordance with standard commercial kennel keeper structures, pets will not be released back to the custody of the owner or any third-party handler until the outstanding financial invoice is completely settled and paid in full.
We plan our strict pack limits entirely around your custom dates. Any cancellations made less than 24 hours prior to the scheduled stay will result in a standard $25 fee per individual pup.
